I believe that we create our own reality moment by moment.

Finding Strength in Connection
If you’re here, it’s likely because you’re seeking change, growth, or a safe space to reconnect with yourself. I understand how life’s challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming. My own journey has shown me that even in the midst of a struggle, it’s possible to catch your breath and find your footing again.
Born in Aotearoa and spending my early childhood exploring the outback of Queensland, Australia, my life was filled with adventures that nurtured my love for nature and genuine connection. However, returning to South Auckland as a pre-teen brought a crucial shift. At just 12 years old, something significant happened that kept my body in a state of high alert—a survival mode I didn’t yet have the tools to understand.
At 19, I met my husband, and together we welcomed three beautiful children. To the outside world, I was a compassionate young nurse and a social butterfly who seemed to have it all together. Yet inside, I was battling deep insecurities and a profound lack of trust. For years, I relied on ways to quiet the internal noise, finding any means possible to distance myself from the intensity of the chaos I felt. I pushed my emotions down so far that I eventually stopped feeling anything at all. When I did share about my past, I spoke the words but felt nothing—a survival tactic that left me disconnected from my true self.

From Clinical Care to Compassionate Healing
My professional journey began in nursing, driven by a heartfelt desire to make a difference through compassionate care. During these years, I found a much-needed release for my pent-up energy through sports fighting, boxing, and working out at the gym. It was the only way my body knew how to move the tension I carried.
This passion for movement eventually led me to transition into Personal Training, where I gained valuable insights into how physical vitality deeply influences emotional well-being.
In my late 30s, life threw significant curveballs my way, resulting in the end of my marriage. Navigating that transition and rediscovering my identity required every bit of resilience I had; however, the internal weight of my history lingered.
Recognising that my lifestyle was leading to self-destruction, I made the life-changing decision to relocate to Australia. This choice weighed heavily on me, especially knowing my whānau remained in Aotearoa. I hoped that my journey toward self-discovery would ultimately allow me to return as a more authentic and empowered person.
It was during my time in Australia that my younger sister passed away. A year later, the weight of my grief and the struggles I’d been hiding for so long finally became too much to carry. I hit what felt like rock bottom.
The protective barrier I had built for decades finally cracked, leading me to a devastating realisation: while I had ‘survived’ my life thus far, my sister had not survived her trauma. This painful insight opened the emotional floodgates, prompting me to seek help through counseling and somatic discovery. For the first time, I began learning how to gently allow my body to process the emotions I had carried inside for decades, moving from a state of constant survival into a journey of true alignment.
This turning point eventually led me back home. In 2019, I felt a strong pull to return to Aotearoa to be closer to my whānau and to reconnect more deeply with my Māori heritage. A pivotal experience occurred when I attended a hui and listened to the powerful, authentic stories of wāhine. Their bravery confirmed my purpose: to walk alongside women as they reclaim their strength and build their own legacies. It became clear to me that my journey was not just about personal healing but about creating a supportive community for others.
Once back in Aotearoa, I served as a Programme Lead within the mental health and addiction sector. This experience opened my eyes to how many people are silently struggling—desperately needing understanding, genuine support, and someone to truly listen. I realised that at the heart of every story is a fundamental human need for connection and support.

A Holistic Vision for Wellness
My experiences have reinforced the importance of having a safe space to heal, where individuals can share their stories and reconnect with their true selves. I came to understand that true wellness must address the whole person—hinengaro (mind), tinana (body), and wairua (spirit).
To bridge the gap between clinical care and holistic wellness, I pursued education in counseling, alongside specialised certifications in trauma-informed care, mindfulness practices, and women’s health.
Supporting Your Journey with Wisdom and Science
These qualifications beautifully complement my study of Māori healing arts such as Romiromi and Mirimiri. By blending traditional wisdom with contemporary techniques, I have created a practice that honors the whole person. I believe that our heritage and history are the anchors that allow us to rise and grow today.
Today, I am passionate about guiding women to reconnect with their power, peel away the layers of doubt, and embrace who they truly are. I believe that life’s challenges do not define us; it’s how we choose to rise and navigate those challenges that truly shapes our paths.
At Renewal Bodywork and Coaching, I’ve created a warm and caring space where women can feel safe to reclaim their power, restore their well-being, and embrace their whānaungatanga (sense of belonging). My mission is to support you on your journey toward personal empowerment, helping you uncover your true self and build the life you are meant to lead.
I invite you to take the first step on this journey with me. Together, we can explore your experiences, honor your story, and embrace the transformative power of healing. Let’s walk this path to wellness side by side, as you discover the strength and resilience that lie within you.
